Wondrous Words Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Kathy @ Bermudaonion weblog where we share new (to us) words that we’ve encountered in our reading.  If you want to play along, grab the button, and join the fun!  (Don’t forget to leave a link in the comments if you’re participating.)

This week’s words come courtesy of my daughter Emma and her Grand European College Tour. Since she’s not home yet (she’s back at her self-defense class) I thought I’d add a couple of slang words I wish we could use. First up:

Dodgy — Shady, sketchy, not so great. As in “the dodgy part of town”. I love this word and actually do try to use it even though I know I shouldn’t.

Whinge — To constantly complain. Isn’t this a great one. Much more accurate than whine in some cases.

Alright so here are my daughter words (0r really phrases):

Coffin-dodgers — her tour guides term for the senior set.

Slap and Tickle — Fooling around

Ladles and Jelly-spoons — Ladies and Gentlemen

Oh la la, Ding Dong — Look at the good looking guy or girl

kumbaya — Apparently they use this term for awkward.

Well, those are just a few, what new words (or terms) came your way?
